From Friday the 12th to Sunday the 14th of September 2025, Stirling hosts Bloody Scotland, the country’s international crime writing festival. Events take place in venues across the city, including Albert Halls, Trinity Church and the Golden Lion Hotel. The programme includes author panels, readings, industry discussions and a torchlit procession through the old town. Crime Family Fortunes returns as part of the evening schedule, along with the McIlvanney and Debut Prize presentations. Writers range from household names to first-time authors.
